Autumn Blues

It's that time of year again, it's dark in the mornings, then dark again after work with the nights drawing in, the rain is non stop and the balmy sunny days are gone. Whilst Autumn is a lovely month - crunchy leaves, log fires and cosy jumpers, not to mention hot chocolate, it can also be a time when our workouts take a slump. I am here with you in it, the motivation to go outside for a run or get to the gym or your workout class can really take a dive, as you'd much rather be sitting inside in the warm watching your current Netflix binge.

There are two ways we could face this, one we book that exercise class so we know it's in the diary and we are going to get there, or two we can adapt. I tend to workout more at home during these times. That way I don't need to leave the house for it, so I can stay where it's warm but I also still get a workout in. There are so many options available for working out at home; you could do a mini indoor circuit based session, put on a workout video online or even have a home yoga session, they are just a few ideas. So try not to let the weather put you off, keep on with your goals and adapt as you need to. Maybe however you actually love a run in the dark or a swim when it's less crowded, if so great, stick with it and most of all do what you love!

If you would like more ideas for home workouts, feel free to send me a message, or alternatively I can keep your motivation levels even higher by coming to train you in the warmth of your own home.

Whatever you do, have a great Autumn!
